As a TEFL teacher for the Finnish British Society during 1980/81 I had found that the teaching of English to business people was out-dated, uninspired and unrewarding for both teachers and students.

In 1982 I joined English Translation and Tuition Services and was allowed to compile my own courses. These were business orientated, designed to progress at the pace of individuals within small groups who were encouraged to participate at every stage of a 4/5 day intensive course. The focus was now on acquiring communication skills in English and using them in a variety of real business situations. Added to this was a well-motivated trainer and the results were more than pleasing for both trainer and participants.

I often look back on the feedback forms from those early times in 83/84 and reflect on how radical yet how satisfied those "guinea -pig " participants felt on the first courses.

The use of English as the language of business communication with different cultures was influencing the development of courses greatly and to this end I founded Shape Personnel Development services while in Canada during 1984. At this time I was satisfying my own hunger for knowledge on the "cross-cultural" aspect while introducing it to each topic area of my own courses e.g. negotiations, presentations etc.

Today Morgan Training offers the most effective fusion of English Communication skills and inter-cultural communication skills available. Larger companies pay me the biggest compliment by trying to copy some of my original ideas and training techniques -- but I always seem to stay a few steps ahead!

I remain personally involved in every course undertaken by the company and I am also responsible for every trainer that leaves the U.K. with a Morgan
Training mandate --- so I hope to meet YOU at sometime in the near future.
